EUPHORIA EXHIBITION – MILK FACTORY GALLERY BOWRAL NSW – 6 – 26 JUNE 2022

At first, I struggled with trying to come up with a name for this exhibition but I was soon overcome with a strong emotion & that was “EUPHORIA”. I adore florals, especially peonies, cherry blossoms, orchids, roses & more recently water lilies. Painting them gives me great happiness & I get really excited to delve into them on canvas.

Peony’s take me back to my childhood days of classical ballet & remind me of gorgeous tutus. I love painting their multiple layers of petals & intricate centres… pure joy.

I went to Japan to photograph cherry blossoms. Such an amazing time & the whole country dedicates festivals to these special blooms. The Chelsea flower show in the UK is where I photographed thousands of roses. Quite overwhelming to see roses cascading everywhere.

Heading to Monet’s garden in France to photograph his lily pond was an unforgettable experience. I have always wanted to paint them. Now is the time. For me when I placed all the paintings, I was putting into this exhibition around in my studio. I felt immense joy at not only completing many floral works that I love but actually immersing myself in the feeling they gave me as a collection. Euphoria came to me.
