I was inspired by a beautiful peony I saw in a garden in Paris. It had rained the day before which gave this peony that gorgeous subtle flowing look. Its very demure looking with the petals folding forward over the centre. I was just drawn to the muted pinks with hints of greys & the intense darker centre. They are such a stunning flower with everyone of them totally unique. I was actually very lucky to photograph this flower as I was strolling through the garden & saw a group of these stunning peonies. I headed over across the grass & quickly started photographing them only to be set upon by one of the many gardener’s & in a strong French tone, told to get off the grass. I felt like a school kid that had just been told off by their teacher but completely understood. Lesson learnt. I did create this glorious painting though so it was worth it. This painting would add a little luxury to any environment.
